Vice President Cheney declared Iraq a "success" yesterday, ...................................................which leaves one to wonder what rock he's been under for the past year.
Iraq Today:
The water and lights still don't work most of the time, the Iraqi army and police have been infiltrated and are being blown up and executed daily, our army has a Fort Apache strategy, we have few if any backup troops and everyone is being extended in the "backdoor draft". The billions from Iraqi oil that were going to pay for the stuff we blew up so far have cost us about $200 billion with a $75 billion installment waiting in the wings, the government we installed in June doesn't like us much more than the rest of the country and the munitions that are being used to blow us up appear to have been stolen from us. We don't have any friends left in the world, our casualties top 1,100 with 8,000 wounded and Iraq has become the kidnap and beheading capital of the world not to mention the thousands of innocent dead Iraqi's.
We are there under false pretenses. There were no WMD's, nor is there any evidence that Iraq was going to have them anytime soon. They did not participate in 9/11 and could barely feed their own people and while Saddam Hussein was a bad person, so is "Dear Leader" Kim Jung Ill of North Korea. Why aren't we in Pongyang? Is it because he does have nuclear WMD's?
Hard to believe we could have a bigger screwup than the last Gulf War when we took our ball and went home and let Saddam come back and murder the people we "liberated" but then again, that was another "success" by the same management team. I would hate to contemplete what they would consider to be a failure.
Meanwhile, on the domestic front the vice President declared the economy to be a "success" yesterday................which leaves one to wonder if he knows what a rock is.
